Approximate 55 kilometer away from our residential place Manbazar ,at about 2.00 pm we reached the top level of Chhendapathar where the residu of explosive materials cave of patriotic hero Khudiram Basu exist. In time of British period Khudiram Basu used this cave for preserve of explosive materials against British.The narrow mouth of cave leads deep to another side exit point. We didn’t enter into it for long time careless preservation.

This place is located near Chhendapathar village appox 2 kilometer north. It is in the middle of jungle. Once it was surrounded with dense trees as per word of our guide Pabitra babu . Chhendapathar village is not dense populated. Approximate 118 family reside there.

The villagers organized Durgapuja near the place of High school since 1992 as per their word. The name of this place where Durgapuha is performed every year is ADIBASI SANSKRITIK CHARCHA KENDRA.

 Actual the place is under School committee eastern side across the road. The villagers formed a committee to perform the Durgapuja. In this year 12 member  committee secretary is Abani Mahata and President Shankar Hansda.

 Budget is approx 60,000/-. Collection made from villagers donation as per their family source of income, might be 100/500/1000 etc.They have no ancestral properties for the purpose of deity of Goddess Durga. On the time of Durgapuja a local fair is held every year for four days near this open field. Near this place a statue of Khudiram Basu is exist.

 A bungle made by NGO is situated remote eastern side of this area. Once it was used for tourist and other purpose .Now deserted for long time. There are a few building with well colored and table chair but nobody use and no care taker available here. There are a deserted power store house with solar plates ,once these were functioned for solar power generation.

   

In the middle of village there is a rest house for tourist made by Govt.of West Bengal. It is also deserted and closed for long time. Western side of the village is forest office and the Higher Secondary School is situated in the northern side.

We may tell this area is in between jungle area. This jungle leads to Dalm of Chhotonagpur anchal. It is instant area of jungle Mahal. In this jungle no ferocious animals are available here excep  rabbit and the bird peacock and wild hen. Some times hunters find deer also.

Deity of Goddess Durga Chhandapathar

Different kinds of trees are available in this jungle among them Shal,Bhruu,Piyal,Kend,Bhalu,Haitoki,Bohera,Amloki,Mahul,Segun etc. Ananta mul,Satmul,Nilkanthamul,Bakhar herb etc available. We should remember the trible   peoples make their drink water mixing Anantamul,Satmul,Nilkanthamul with Bakhar herb.
